Latest Update

Had a doctor's appt on May 27th. All is still going perfect he says. Baby's heart rate was 152. Just waiting to see when the little guy or gal will come.

We ordered our baby furniture but it is backordered until the first of July. We might not have it before the baby arrives. We purchased a pack and play for our bedroom and it has everything we need until the furniture gets here.

We missed our window of opportunity to get the 4D ultrasound. After the first time was a mess we went in again a week later and they still didnt know what they were doing and the machines were broken. What made it worse was they told us we should of called but they had told us prior thwy would call if it wasnt going to work out. Oh well. An adventure we can do with the next.

Another Dr. Appt May 14th

Today the appt went well. The doctor was concerns about the swelling in my hands and feet saying it was a little early but that it happens. My blood pressure was good though and they did a urine test just to make sure. We are just going to keep an eye on things. The babies heart rate was 153. I cant wait to be done and let the fun begin.

Purchased cloth diapers today (yes we know we are crazy). They are really cool though because they have biodegradable liners that you can toss or flush. Its all the benefits of cloth diapers without the hassle. Cant wait to see if they work!

4-D Sonogram First Attempt

Yesterday we had a 4-D sonogram to just see the baby and get some needed encouragement and excitement. We went down to the radiology and they had accidentally scheduled me for it in Lancaster. They had the machine to do the ultrasound but not the printer. They lady said my face looked so disappointed she at least had to let me see the baby and she needed to practice with the new machine. The pictures aren't that good cause like i said there was no printer but she played with the baby for a while so we could see it. It was sucking its thumb or rubbing its eyes the whole time. We saw it breathing(just to practice), she said the palette of the mouth is closed(no cleft lip), the diaphragm was closed and working(important for breathing), the heart was beating great, the bladder was full(it was swallowing amniotic fluid and the kidneys are working), and it was moving around alot(i didnt need a sonogram to tell you that).

We will try again next week when they have a printer.

It is sucking its thumb with the index finger curled over the nose.

Another doctors appt today. The doctor says everything is going perfect still. The heart beat was 148 beats per minute. I am measuring bigger then 28 weeks so he says he thinks i am more like 30 weeks. He has been trying to add weeks for a while. He says my next ultrasound is at 36 weeks but they have a new 4-D ultrasound thats really cool. We havent decided if we are going to do that one yet.

The baby's room is coming along. Still a lot to do and the time is ticking away.

April 15, 2009- Maternity Leave

So the last two weeks have not been easy. I am begining to feel how immobile I am getting, my nausea is returning at times, and my energy is down(probably from carrying around all this extra weight.). On Tuesday I had another dr's appt and I am officially on maternity leave. I did all the papers this morning but they knew it was coming. I am scared of how bored i am going to get so i am trying to keep busy. I am making a list of things i can do just so i know there is something to be done.

Did the glucose screen today and some other labs. I was terrified to do the glucose screen because i had been in there once before and a pregnant lady was crying because she couldn't stand it. It wasnt bad. It was like a really sweet hawaiian punch soda. My biggest complaint was i couldnt eat breakfast.

The baby is moving alot. The latest thing the baby does is stretch out and you can tell because my whole belly shifts.

April 1st doctors appt.

The doctor is still very happy with the pregnancy. The heart beat was 153 beats per minute. The baby was kicking the doctor and moving around alot during the appt. The doctor asked me to go on maternity leave stating Nursing was a physical and emotional difficult job. I refused. I am not ready for that yet. He has changed my appts from every 4 weeks to every 2 weeks. We are almost in the third trimester!!!
